Language Symbols grew from Faith Carlson Inc., a small graphics studio that specializes in the development of symbols for communication and learning. Previously Faith Carlson Inc. developed the DynaSyms, a symantically based system currently used by DynaVox on their electronic devices.
Seeing the need for a system based on English grammar, Language Symbols has spent the last few years developing a new symbol set that we call PicLish, short for Picture English. PicLish is a flexible system that embraces English grammar and syntax, something that is absent from many symbol sets currently on the market. The symbols were created as vector images for a variety of applications ranging from hard copy format to hand held electronic devices.
